The Owner All work is lead by principal consultant Amber Joiner-Hill, MSSW. She earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan and an MS in Social Work from the University of Texas.

What does “Magnolia Detroit” mean? Amber was born and raised in Detroit and one of her favorite memories is admiring a magnolia tree in full bloom in the backyard of a house on the West Side. Surrounded by poverty and vacant lots was this beautiful tree that thrived in spite of life’s obstacles. It was the perfect representation of Detroit and the resilient people who live there. This is an ode to the city that shaped her.

Build your organization’s capacity and improve the success of your organization and it’s employees.
